Michael LevittExecutive Director, Humber River Family Health Team
Board director, Mississauga-Halton CCAC
Since joining the not-for-profit sector in 2007, Michael D. Levitt has led new start-up organizations, and reorganization of organizations seeking expert growth leadership. In the past 5 years, team performance and program reviews have saved over $250,000, without staff reductions or increases. Workflow process improvements between departments have increased productivity and client service without increasing costs.
Michael brings to the task his experience from a 25-year career in leadership, finance and information technology. Through community engagement, fund raising, and governmental cooperation, thousands of patients now have a primary care physician. This reduces wait times at Ontario's emergency rooms, by increasing access to primary care, when and where the patient lives.
Michael serves on the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries of Toronto and the Mississauga-Halton CCAC.
Michael has the LEAN Health Care Yellow Belt designation through Ontario Hospital Association.
Michael is also a graduate of Rotman Healthcare Advanced System Leadership program.
Michael studied accounting and management at Walsh College. In 2010, he became a certified crisis intervention trainer, from the Canadian Training Institute.
